What's the difference between Basic and Advanced Applications?
This section explains the difference between Basic and Advanced Applications in the Organization.
Designers in the Workspaces can design applications that require one of the following application slot types to work: Basic or Advanced.
Warning
Standard Workspace's users can't access the application if it doesn't have an assigned Application Slot.
If the Designer hasn't assigned yet any application slot to the application, the application is in Trial Mode: only Designers can access it and other users can't launch it.
If one of the cases below happens, the application is Restricted: only users with Application Designer, Application Managers or Workspace Admin permissions can view Restricted applications. Standard users can't use Restricted applications.
- the application's slot expires at the expiration date defined by its License.
- the Designer removes the application slot.
- the Designer enables features requiring an Advanced application slot. So, the current application slot type isn't enough.
eLegere applications in Workspaces require an application slot to work.
Organization
- Starter Organizations give access to Basic Application slots only.
- Professional Organizations give access to both Basic Application and Advanced Application slots.
Make sure you have the right Organization Type for your needs.
Check Deploy, License, and Organization Type to learn more about Organization Types.
The difference between Basic Applications and Advanced Applications lies in what features the Designer has enabled and deployed to the users:

A Delegate assigns the application slots to the Workspace. The Designer can then assign the application slot to an application from the Workspace's reserve.
Question
In the Home you can recognize an application with an Advanced License by the icon in the upper-left corner of the tile in Tile View Mode.
In Grid view, the icon appears under the Features column.
Delegates can add application slots to their Organization by redeeming Licenses. After the redeeming, Delegates can distribute the application slots among the Workspaces. See How do I edit or delete a Workspace? for more information about how to assign application slots to a Workspace.
