How do I lock or unlock a user's access?

Required Delegate Permission

You can perform this operation if and only if you are either an Admin Delegate or a Users & Workspaces Delegate.

This section explains how to lock or unlock a user's access from the entire eLegere's Organization.

Delegates can block a user's account from login in eLegere within the Organization Manager. This feature enables to stop a user from accessing without deleting their account.

Warning

Locking a user from the Users panel locks them from logging in the entire Organization.

To let a user logging in eLegere without accessing certain Workspaces, check the subsection Block the User from Accessing a Workspace in the How do I either edit or remove a user from my Organization?.

Identifying Locked and Unlocked Users

In the Users sub-panel, look at the Log-In column.

  • Unlocked: The user can login in eLegere.
  • Locked: The user is locked and can't access the current eLegere Organization.

Lock or Unlock a User's Sign In

Lock a User's Sign-In

Follow the steps below to learn how to lock a user.

  1. In the Organization Manager's Home, click on Users on the left sidebar. The action leads to the Users sub-panel.

  2. In the Users sub-panel, find the user you want to lock out from eLegere.

  3. Click on the button on the row corresponding to the user you want to lock and choose Lock Sign-In. The action opens the Sign-In Lock window.

  4. In the Sign-In Lock, choose whether you want to warn the user or not by email about the lock. By default, the Send a notification email to the User is checked. Uncheck it if you don't want to warn the user.

  5. Click on the Confirm button to lock the user or on Cancel, I don't want to make changes to abort. The window closes after the choice.

Unlock a User's Sign-In

Repeat the steps from Lock a User's Sign-In to Unlock a user.

The Unlock Sign-In option will appear in the drop-down menu instead of the Lock Sign-In option.

Tip

You can lock or unlock multiple users' sign-in all at once.

  1. Select the users in the Users sub-panel by clicking on their row's checkbox.
  2. Click on the Actions drop-down menu next to the Add User button.
  3. From the drop-down menu, click on Lock Sign-In or Unlock Sign-In according to the case.
  4. The window will ask for confirmation. Click on the Confirm button to lock the user or on Cancel, I don't want to make changes to abort. The window closes after the choice.

The table will apply the lock or unlock on all the selected users.
